The construction industry body, Build UK, has become a member of JCT.
Build UK’s work focuses on delivering change and enabling the construction supply chain to improve the efficiency and delivery of construction projects, for the benefit of the UK economy.
Their priority issues within the industry include improving business performance, increasing productivity, and recruiting and training talent.
Representing a number of different organisation and specialisms within the industry, Build UK’s leadership and collaborative approach will be valuable assets within the JCT membership.
JCT was formed in 1931 and is the UK’s leading provider of main contracts, sub-contracts, guidance notes and other documentation for the construction industry.
The organisation’s consensus approach, with a membership that comprises clients, contractors, specialists, and legal professionals, makes them unique within the industry for the collaborative way in which the contracts are developed.
JCT’s current membership includes the British Property Federation, Contractors Legal Grp Ltd, Local Government Association, Royal Institute of British Architects, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and the Scottish Building Contract Committee Ltd.
JCT chief executive, Neil Gower, said:
