JCT chair, Richard Saxon CBE, will be giving presentations at two online events, as part of the Construction Blockchain Consortium Annual Conference on Tuesday, 15 October 2020 and a CRS / BISNOW webinar on Tuesday, 03 November 2020.
Richard’s presentation at the Construction Blockchain Consortium Annual Conference, forms part of the ‘Smart Legal Contracts for Construction’ session, taking place on Tuesday, 15 October, from 1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Richard’s paper, “Built Environment as a Service: a Blockchain use case”, will discuss the potential for digital technologies to transform the provision of the built environment, changing the supply model from a product to a service, and enable business models that would provide better outcomes for all stakeholders.
The paper will explore the potential and how blockchain could support such a business model on a ‘smart contract’ basis.
This year’s Construction Blockchain Consortium Annual Conference, titled ‘CBC2020 – Blockchain and the Digital Thread’ is a global event that is taking place entirely virtually. More information and ticketing is available at www.constructionblockchain.org/2020.
Richard will also be discussing the impact of Covid-19 on the built environment in a CRS / BISNOW webinar on Tuesday, 03 November 2020 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
The event, “Construction in the Covid-era: What have we learned so far? Where do we go from here?”, will be a panel discussion of UK construction industry leaders.
The webinar will explore how the industry has responded to the challenges of 2020, what the likely challenges of 2021 will be, industry trends that are being accelerated at this time, and how industry innovation and UK Government policy can shape the industry positively for the future.
