‘Administering JCT 2024 Contracts’ is the latest course to be added to the JCT Training portfolio.
It will be introduced as part of the Autumn 2026 series of JCT Training, and will take place as a full-day, in-person course.
‘Administering JCT 2024 Contracts’
Using the unamended JCT Design and Build Contract 2024 as its reference, this practical course provides a commercial understanding of the key provisions, enabling attendees to administer the contract accurately and effectively.
Delivered from both the Contractor’s and Employer’s perspectives, the course covers:
- Navigating key contractual mechanisms (e.g. delays and extensions of time; reimbursement of loss and expense; inadequacies, divergences, and discrepancies in the Contract Documents; and the Design Submission Procedure), and the issuing of related notices and replies.
- Reducing the likelihood of disputes, and mitigating their impact, through careful contract administration and record keeping.
- Identifying and managing common problems and challenges encountered on live projects.
- Understanding the risk allocation between the Contractor and the Employer.
This course will be as practical and interactive as possible, with a focus on drafting exercises, problem questions, and worked examples from real-world project scenarios.
