JCT will join celebrations to recognise the 50th anniversary of the Scottish Building Contract Committee (SBCC), by attending a reception at the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood, Edinburgh, on 5th June 2014.
SBCC was founded in 1964 and is a pan-industry body which adapts contracts produced by JCT for use on all scales of construction projects in Scotland.
In addition, SBCC plays a key part in the overall development of JCT contracts, in their role as a member body.
The reception at the Scottish Parliament, hosted by Richard Baker MSP, is attended by JCT Chair, Peter Hibberd and Chief Executive, Neil Gower.
JCT Chief Executive, Neil Gower, said:
“JCT offers its congratulations to SBCC on the occasion of their 50th anniversary. SBCC plays a vital role in ensuring that JCT forms remain the most widely used standard form contracts in Scotland, by adapting them to meet the requirements of Scottish law and the needs of the Scottish construction industry.
“SBCC’s support in the development of JCT contracts has also been important in maintaining JCT’s position as the foremost contract producing body in the UK. We look forward to continuing our relationship and wish them well for the next 50 years.”
